Chef Chaniya Anderson born in Washington DC in 2002, Educated in P G County Graduated from Wise Senior High School in 2020. Went on to further my education at Lincoln Tech Institute Technical Career School graduating in 2023.

Raised by a single mother my father did his best from the Correctional Institution off and on from 2003-2018

At the Age of 5 my mother persuaded me to take in interest in modeling and acting as I loved dressing up and glitz and glam of being a young girl. I left behind my desire to become a model/actress to later embarked on my love of culinary arts. At the age of 13 I started providing desserts and treats for my mother’s Event Planning business with mini desserts and dressing up candy tables.

In my senior year of high school, I considered and applied to PGCC Culinary Arts Program. However, after reading the curriculum I decided it was not for me and I only wanted to focus on culinary arts, and then COVID changed the world. Eger to start and in the need of an income as I am now a High School Graduate, I decided to launch my own business. I packaged my desserts into unique and customized arrangements.

The response was just what I need to confirm my talents and the career path I wanted to take. Later I did some research and found the trade school Lincoln Tech University from a former classmate.

I attended Lincoln Tech in the fall of 2022 for International Pastry and Cuisine, it was exactly what I was looking for because I woke up every day knowing I would learn something new about my career. I continue to work for myself and for my mother’s business to pay for school out of pocket. In the mist of being in school and working in 2022. I opened my first small bakery inside of my mother’s Skating Rink offering cupcakes, cookies dessert jars and more.

I spent 9 months in school gaining knowledge and earning Certificates. After 9 months I did an internship for 3 months in the field at Dog Tag Bakery under experienced Pastry Chefs where I’m currently employee while I work on opening a full Bakery of my own.
